Many of us operate their own servers and services: mail, web, asterisk, jabber, you name it. That's fun while it lasts but when real life takes over, we might grow negligent or unable to fix problems, getting stuck in the mud. It also seems like a huge waste of resources.
Yes, there are plenty of 3rd parties out there to run these for you, but there are trust and quality issues that I feel would already be included if DDs teamed up over this.
While some such pools already exist, I would like to explore the possibility to do this at a larger scale, e.g. host services (independently of Debian) for several DDs at once, properly administered (meaning money will need to flow).
Can we establish a common ground for the service-level and quality to offer?
Is there a sustainable way that keeps everyone smiling?
